The Ultimate Valentine

A love song for eternity….from the Author of true love, sacrificial giving, friendship, marriage, family, and all that is wonderful…Love Himself, God.

The Love of God
by Frederick Lehman

The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell,
It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win:
His erring child, He reconciled and pardoned from his sin.

Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill and every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry,
Nor could the scroll contain the whole tho’ stretched from sky to sky!

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall for evermore endure,
The saints’ and angels’ song!”

Mercy Me sings this so beautifully on their CD, Spoken For.   If you have a few minutes, listen to this love song in the Blue Box to the right.  Just click on the Box, wait 10 secs for the song to upload, click play….then, rest in His love.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

This is love:  not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. ”
1 John 4:9,10 NIV

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal Life.”
John 3:16 NIV

  1. That is one of the most inspiring songs ever written, and done so beautifully by Mercy Me. Thanks for sharing. BTW, hope you had a wonderful day.

I’m so thankful God gave the very best Valentine’s Day gift of all.

  2. Thanks for the comments. Yes, we had a wonderful day–part of the time discussing what our ‘love languages’ are, the other part, expressing those.

The Lord’s love language is all encompassing–giving, affirming, sacrificing, sharing, quality time, touching our hearts, and more! Thank you Lord the Cross, for giving us Your Son before the foundation of the world, your love reaching out to us…time without end! Amen.

What do you think??
