Merry Christmas from Us!

John filmed the one-minute video below from our room at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario.  The music in the background is, once again, “O Holy Night”, by the Celtic Women, from yesterday’s post.

No Christmas greeting would be complete without pointing to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, and the centerpiece of Christ-mas:

“And the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David, there has been born for you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord!'” Luke 2:10, 11

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, in order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive adoption as sons (and daughters).” Galatians 4:4, 5

“By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.”  1 John 4:9

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom or all..” 1 Timothy 2:5,6

Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King

Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinner reconciled!”

  1. Thank you Linda for your very kind and comforting words posted on my last blog entry. Oh Holy Night, as I must have said before, is one of my favorite traditional Christmas songs. I can sense a kindred spirit in you, and like you, music best expresses my heart for my King… and your husband’s photos are beautiful…very beautiful. Music and photographs are two of the things that speak to my heart, but books will always be my first love. Discovering your blog is a God given thing, I’m so thankful to have “met” you. Let’s keep in touch! By the way, do you live in Ontario? Amazing, we’re thousands of miles away from one another, yet it seems that I have known you for a long time.

  2. Beautiful video, and even more beautiful message. Thank God forever, Jesus Christ is born. Several people on my blogroll have Christmas posts, and that’s so good. May the Lord bless you and your family.

  3. Mia, Thank you for the encouragement! Isn’t it amazing that we can be so one in the Lord though we live on opposite sides of the world! We’ve lived a lot of places, including Japan, Guam, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Germany, Canada, and a dozen States..so you don’t seem far away to me 🙂

You might be interested in the music of the late 😦 Mary Barrett, a beautiful worshipper, orginally from the Phillipines. Some of her music and posts about her can be found on this blog. She had cancer for about a year, and went to be with the Lord on November 11th.

My continue prayers for you and your family! Love, Linda
