Say a little prayer

I heard the following on a Compassion International commercial and it bears repeating:

~~Do you have food in the ‘fridge?

~~Do you have more than 2 changes of clothes?

~~Do you have a roof over your head?

~~Do you have a bed to sleep in?

If you can answer yes to these questions, you’re better off than 75% of the world’s population.

So let’s say a little prayer today and be content with all our blessings.  And then pray, and look for ways to help those in need.  Compassion International is a great place to start!

  1. Linda, so many times we lose track of what the Lord has given us. Reading your entry reminded me of a hymn we sing at church. Honestly, I don’t know if other churches carry it in their Hymn books but here are the verses:

    1. When upon life’s billows you are tempetst tossed,
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

    2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings; every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the day goes by.

    3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you his wealth untold,
Count your many blessings; money cannot buy
Your reward in Heaven nor your home on high.

    4. So amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged; God is over all.
Count your many blessings; angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Count your many blessings; Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.
Count your blessings, Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings See what God had done.

  2. Ross,

I love that hymn! Thank you for reminding me of such an encouraging song..and more importantly, the message. We have so much, that we really can never be thankful enough!

Thankful, always, for friends like you!
